Learned in Scout Cooking.

This is a basic Boy Scout cobbler. Best combinations I have found are:
Cherry with a chocolate cake
Apple with a spiced cake
Peach or Blueberry with a white cake

Yields1 Serving
 2 Cans Apple Pie Filling
 1 Box Cake Mix
 1 Can Lemon-Lime Soda
1

Line your dutch oven with either tin foil or parchment paper. The sugar in the pie filling will get very sticky against the sides otherwise, and you will spend a lot of time cleaning your dutch oven.

2

Pour in pie filling.

3

Put cake mix on top in an even layer.

4

Pour soda on top. The carbonation helps the cake rise.

5

Put the lid on and back at 375-400°F (190-205°C) for 1 hour. If using charcoal put 6-8 coals underneath in the center and 1 ring around the top of the lid.
