We did a deconstructed Wellington, above, for Valentine\u2019s day, and served 5 people in about 40 minutes.<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients<\/h3>\n<div class=\"cooked-recipe-ingredients\">\n<div itemprop=\"recipeIngredient\" class=\"cooked-single-ingredient cooked-ingredient cooked-ing-no-checkbox\"><span class=\"cooked-ing-amount\" data-decimal=\"1\">1<\/span> <span class=\"cooked-ing-measurement\"><\/span> <span class=\"cooked-ing-name\">Filet Mignon<\/span><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeIngredient\" class=\"cooked-single-ingredient cooked-ingredient cooked-ing-no-checkbox\"><span class=\"cooked-ing-amount\" data-decimal=\"2\">2<\/span> <span class=\"cooked-ing-measurement\"><\/span> <span class=\"cooked-ing-name\">Brown Mushrooms<\/span><span class=\"cooked-ing-description\">up to 4 mushrooms<\/span><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeIngredient\" class=\"cooked-single-ingredient cooked-ingredient cooked-ing-no-checkbox\"><span class=\"cooked-ing-name\">Pate<\/span><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeIngredient\" class=\"cooked-single-ingredient cooked-ingredient cooked-ing-no-checkbox\"><span class=\"cooked-ing-name\">Olive oil, butter, or preferred cooking oil<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<div class=\"cooked-recipe-directions\">\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 1\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Wash and stem the mushrooms. I generally don\u2019t keep the stems, and only use the caps. Slice the caps thinly<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 2\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Set your oven to 225 degrees F<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 3\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Place the filet on your baking pan. Salt and\/or pepper to taste<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 4\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Bake the filet for approx. 20-30 minutes. Use the instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature of your meat, and pull it out of the oven when it reaches an internal temp of 120F. Allow to rest 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 5\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Saut\u00e9 the mushrooms in your olive oil or butter (I\u2019ll use primarily olive oil with a small amount of butter &#8211; your tastes may differ) over medium heat. You are looking for the mushrooms to be soft and well cooked, but not falling apart. When done, remove the mushrooms either (a) to a working bowl, or (b) to your plate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 6\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Slice the pate so you have approx. 1\u20444\u201d thick (.5CM) strips.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 7\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>Sear the filet in your pan over high heat for approx. 90-120 seconds, until you have a good sear. Remember to do both sides. As soon as the outside is seared, remove from the heat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cooked-single-direction cooked-direction\" data-step=\"Step 8\">\n<div class=\"cooked-dir-content\">\n<p>PLATING: Place the mushrooms on the plate. Next, put the pate slices on the mushrooms.
